Request Papal Audience Tickets
TICKETS FOR PAPAL AUDIENCES:
TICKETS FOR PAPAL AUDIENCES: Although we are not able to provide tickets for the Papal Masses, we are about to do so for the Wednesday General Audiences which are held at 10:30 AM in St. Peter's Square (Piazza San Pietro) or in the Paul VI Audience Hall.
Please scroll all the way down to the Ticket Order Form for the Audiences in Septembe and October.
We do not receive tickets for any other Papal events or liturgies, only the Wednesday General Audiences. Please do not ask us for tickets to the Christimas, Holy Week, Easter, Canonization or any other Masses and services at the which the Pope is the Presider. We are not able to acquire these tickets for you, only for the Wednesday audiences.
The Papal Audiences are held on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 AM in St. Peter's Square. To enter the Square, you will have to go through security first (through the colonnade on either side, as directed by the guards.) Just follow the crowds and go early! We recommend that you arrive 3 hours early in order to get a good seat. The Audience is not a Mass, it is a time for pilgrims and visitors to greet, and listen to, the Pope. Pictures are allowed to be taken; religious articles will be blessed by the Pope during the Audience; it lasts about 1 ½ hours and includes prayers, singing, a brief homily, and blessings, all in different languages. DRESS appropriately (no shorts or sleeveless shirts) and don’t bring backpacks or knapsacks. If there is heavy rain, and having the audience outside in not possible, the attendees are split into two groups, one group in the Audience Hall and one group in the Basilica.
You may want to check the Vatican website periodically. www.vatican.va, click on Latest Updates, then Prefecture of the Papal Household, and look at the schedule on the right hand side of the page.)
PLEASE, PLEASE NOTE that when you write to us, we are the Church of Santa Susanna. We are not the Prefettura, the Papal Household, or the US Bishops' Visitors Center. To contact the Papal Household, please go to www.vatican.va. We have had a great many requests lately to arrange Baptisms, First Communions and Confirmations with the Pope or at St. Peter's Basilica. We are unable to assist with any of these requests, and the Pope himself is not available to celebrate these sacraments, and we encourage you to celebrate them in your local parish community.
Because of the volume of requests we receive, we cannot always send you an email confirming your ticket request. If your email or fax went through, please presume that we have received your request and will put tickets aside for you. If you are concerned to re-confirm your request you can telephone us here in Rome, however this is NOT NECESSARY and we prefer that you do not call. Because the volume has increased this past year, we can only respond two weeks before your requested audience date. And please note that sometimes we do respond and because of your spam filters, your server rejects our emails. So just don't worry. And please, please, let us know if you are cancelling and do not double book with the Bishops Visitors Center. It really is not necessary.
For tickets, SCROLL DOWN TO THE ORDER FORM.
REGARDING NEWLYWED AUDIENCE TICKETS: If you would like these tickets, you will need to apply directly to the Prefect of the Papal Household, fax number (+)39.06.6988.5863, and then pick them up yourselves at the Bronze Doors to the right of St. Peter’s Basilica. Please remember, however, that to receive these tickets you need to have been married in a Catholic Church eight weeks or less on the day of the audience, and you will need to prove this with an authentic Church marriage certificate. Provide them with a fax number so that they can send you the letter that will allow you to claim these tickets. They do not respond to email. And though it’s not required, it is best to wear your wedding outfits, or something similar.
The Sunday Angelus is led by the Pope in Saint Peter's Square (Piazza San Pietro) at 12 Noon. Tickets are not required.

2. Where to pick up your tickets
Reserved Tickets can be picked up on Tuesday afternoon, between 4:30 and 6:15 PM ONLY in the Parish Office to the right of Santa Susanna Church. Via Venti Settembre, N. 15. Due to restoration work, the Church of Santa Susanna is closed. However, we will be in the office to give out the tickets. Our daily Mass in English is at 6 PM in the St. Patrick's Church, at Via Boncompagni, N. 31, near the corner of Via Boncompagni and Via Piemonte, just down the street from the Via Veneto and the U.S. Embassy to Italy. It is a 8-10 minute walk from Santa Susanna.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE AUDIENCE TICKETS ARE FREE, and as long are you make a reservation we will provide one for you. While the tickets are free, we ask you to consider making a free will donation per ticket in order for us to continue this service and to help us with our many other ministries. But a donation is NOT required. As there is a daily 7 PM Mass in English, you can both pick up your tickets and come to Mass.
We are located at the corner of Via Venti Settembre and the Largo Santa Susanna (at the top of Via Barberini/Via Bissolati). The address is Via Venti Settembre 15. You can reach the Church of Santa Susanna by bus, taxi, subway or on foot. We are located one block north of the Piazza della Repubblica, a major bus and subway stop. If you are coming by cab, tell the driver to take you to The St. Regis Grand Hotel and just walk across the street to the Church.
We normally receive the tickets JUST before we distribute them. So please be aware that tickets are not available in advance and cannot be sent to you, mailed or delivered to your hotel.
Christmas and Easter (and Pentecost), and the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul: Due to the ever increasing volume of ticket requests for Christmas and Easter, other Feasts and Canonization Masses, we DO NOT provide this service as we are not able to get these tickets. (Please read the information at the top of this section FIRST.)
If you want to try to apply for a ticket for Christmas or Easter, you can contact the Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma, Michigan, at the Bishops Office for U.S. Visitors Office to the Vatican, Via dell' Umiltá 30, 00187 Rome, Italy. However, know that these tickets are difficult to obtain.
You can send them a fax at FAX: 011/3906/679-1448

If you send a FAX, do not expect a response from them because of the amount of requests they receive. If you send an email, and if it gets through the junk mail detector, you will be responded to. However, please do not confuse the Visitors Office with Santa Susanna. And please do no doublebook as someone else could be using your second set of tickets!!

Anything you can offer is greatly appreciated, but again, THESE TICKETS ARE TOTALLY FREE, so the offering is up to you.
